Mood booster
Winter doldrums are real. We get much less sun during the winter, and lower levels of vitamin D impact mood. Supplementing with vitamin D, especially during those months when we are holed up in our homes, can be important. Here are a few options I use: vitamin D drops, Thorne drops, Pure Encapsulations. As always, consult with your healthcare provider, if you have questions or concerns. You know your body best.

Men's Group(s) Therapy Coming Soon
After hearing a similar sentiment from numerous men that they don't have many, if any, people to talk to about life or their feelings, I realized there is a need for more dedicated places for men to process things happening in their lives. I am working on creating a process group for men. If you, or a man in your life, is looking for a place to dig deeper and develop more meaningful connections, send them my way. I know they are out there.

EMDR
You might be hearing references to "EMDR" more often on social media, among friends, or in the therapy world these days, as it is becoming more known. Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is an integrative therapeutic approach that has been extensively researched and proven effective for the treatment of trauma. In a simplified nutshell, EMDR allows people to process past trauma in a safe setting without having to share the distressing details of their story. I am excited to be starting EMDR training this January, and to begin using it in practice with clients to enhance their path to self-understanding.
