My Story
Life doesn’t often go according to our plans -- something I am all too familiar with. Unmet needs and expectations can leave deep and invisible scars. After experiencing several personal crises, I needed help. I felt like I was dying. I reached out to a friend who helped me find my therapist. Eventually, I was prompted to consider becoming a therapist myself.
Having spent years in the client's seat,
I understand the vulnerability and courage it takes
to change one’s life.
After 15 years as an entrepreneur in the design world -- and long after I thought my time in the classroom had passed -- I returned to school to pursue a Master’s in clinical mental health counseling. I wanted to help others navigate life's challenges, find their strength, and reconnect with their authentic selves. I believe therapy, if one chooses to put in the work, can be empowering and lead to a more fulfilling life.
I currently call Northern Virginia home, but have lived all over the country, moving frequently throughout my childhood. I enjoy quality time with loved ones, especially around a table; football (go Cowboys!); holistic living; cooking; and I am kind of amazing at choosing the best container for leftovers.
